Spray tan questions all your problems resolved here!! :)

1.- So you are ready for your new spray tan as you have an important event coming up and you can't get rid of the old one because you either went too dark or you did it less than a week ago, the best way to get ready with your skin clean of an old spray tan is trying to find the nearest pool and take a dive of at least half an hour, swim get your exercise done for the day and at the same time chlorine will make the trick of making it come faster and easier, so after the pool get in the shower and scrub with a regular washcloth liquid soap while under the water, I promess everything that can come off will do, just be careful not to overdo it and get a rash from it, then we are in trouble for the spray tan, as any rash will get darker when you get sprayed, just want to be very clear about the directions I am giving you the idea is to have a balance and not to overdo in the scrub!! :) 2.- The product gets all over your clothing and you hate that!!.... Now we have the solution for you, tell your technician at your favorite spray tan salon to give you a clear solution, it works exactly as the regular instant one just that it won't come off at all in your clothing as it is the bronzer that does that thing, even though I love the instant gratification! I have to confess I love the clear!!, as the bronzer is the culprit for making your spray tan fell a little on the sticky side, the clear usually is totally dry and less odor!! :) give it a try! you will like it I am sure! 3.- You got the palms of your hands stained, oh no!! the technician didn't spray the palm of your hands!!, I assure you that!! you didn't realized and you touched your skin while you still had the product on your skin and the self tanner when gets in contact with your hands tend to get very orange, now what to do!! there is little but we have hope!! grab a foot file, now we need to be careful here we can really hurt ourselves, but if we do it right those orange palms can be a thing of the past, get in the shower again, my favorite spot to remove spray tan disasters :) get those palms wet and soft and begin scrubbing little by little working the stained areas with patience you will see they will get a LOT lighter and if you do it two days in a row better!! Again don't over do it! :) 4.- Now another situation your feet and hands are very stained, that happens when the technician sprays too much product on them, feet and hands only get sprayed once, I know! they will look very pale as soon as she is finished but any dry areas like hands, feet, elbows will get a lot darker than any other part of the body, now we need a different kind of buffer for this job, the ones that are used for the nails ti buff them, that does the trick of removing the stains in your skin, now it will remove the tan and after you have that area white you can always touch it up with just a tiny bit of self tanner to make it even all over!! 5.- You can't stand the smell, oh well, that usually comes together with the self tanner but there is hope, usually the smell is even worst in the under arm so I tell the technician to spray nothing under my arms, whatever around is ok, now there is a product that the majority of good spray tan salons carry is the after spray that acts as an odor blocker and as an exceptional moisturizer, try it you will see it really helps. Now I see that the deodorant I use makes it worst too, since I change to the natural deodorant the rock it is so much better, besides I know I am using a product that is better for my body so that is a good deal! :) 6.- And the dread complaint, I get orange!! please help, this cheeto type of color :) happens for a few reasons, the most common one is the technician applying too much product in one session and you being too white of course the spray tan gets an orange hue, low quality product or another very common reason is not exfoliating well, that is the main thing to do before you get sprayed, the better you exfoliate the nicer the tan, and nothing better to exfoliate than just a washcloth while you are in the shower, go all over take your time, do not use scrubs with oils, they really don't do the trick exfoliating that well, besides it is the worst thing to have a film of oil in your skin which usually happens when you use those sugar scrubs that have oils, don't get me wrong they are awesome as a regular exfoliator just not as a exfoliator before getting sprayed as it leaves residue on your skin. Again another thing get in the pool to make to color lighter, that will reduce the orange color on your skin. 7.- It not even I have patches all over my body!! Again one reason why that could happen is because you didn't exfoliate before your appointment, I can't emphasize enough how important this step is good for your spray tan, the same thing need to try to remove it as much as you can and the pool will help here as well, call your spray tan salon, tell them about what happened, they should take care of you, first remove the excess and the patchiness with a good swim in the pool scrub after and then go to touch it up the next day!! 8.- Every time I get sprayed I get a darker spot because of a drier area I have, that could be in your knees or your feet, that is very easy to fix, your technician might not see the spot, you make sure you take care of it before you get sprayed, of course first exfoliate in that area as much as possible without making your skin sensitive but before getting sprayed use a moisturizer on that spot only that should take care of it, and if the spray tan still gets through it that is a job for vaseline, that will totally block any contact of the self tanner with your skin and will do the trick! 9.- Freckles get darker with the spray tan, that is a battle that I haven't been able to win still, I have lots of freckles myself and have tried everything in the market possible to get sprayed and not have my freckles darker, now I have find these little tricks will make the freckles not as dark! :) a. Find a moisturizer that does not carry any oils, usually the shea butter lotions are perfect to moisturize before getting sprayed and it helps your freckles not getting as dark. b. Exfoliate as much as possible getting sprayed, use a ph balancer spray before getting sprayed, that helps moisturizing you as well, do one of the two not both. c. Wherever you know you have like a bigger freckle that you know gets very dark you can put some cream on it while getting sprayed in that way the self tanner doesn't get there as much and the freckle doesn't get darker therefore. Sorry for my english is not my first language but try to make as clear as possible. :) Will Keep posting in the future more thing that will come to my mind!! Don't hesitate to let me know any questions you might have I will be happy to help you in anything you need! Coming up how to get ready for the spray tan in the best way possible and how to take care of it so it last you nice and long!! Happy Tanning! Fabiola @ Sobe Tan
